Numbing the Pain

Never give people labels. Criticism can be healthy, but labels run deep. You are, I am.... What are we? We are defined by God. We live under a limitless sky, and we live with a God whose promises are the stuff of dreams. Live a life worthy of dreams, and give permission to those around you to do the same. Just do not label. I user a computer; I am not a nerd. You are not just an average person. We are not failures. Even if we feel like it sometimes. Even then, I refuse to label myself. Labels destroy worlds.

So what do we do when we're lost in a sea of pain and there's no land on the horizon? Chocolate is good, but it is destructive. Friends are fun, but they are only temporary anaesthetic. My computer, it will end in self destruction too. I could lie in bed and wait for the feelings to pass. Wait forever. These things numb the pain for a short time, but I've come to the conclusion that they will destroy me. So how do we deal with pain?

Run; jump, pray. Anything that will get the endorphins pumping. Cry out to God? For others. Destroy the works of the enemy, and feel good about it. Lie out under the stars until the sun comes out again. Do not surrender to the pain, or the enemy wins.

Run. Jump. Pray. Emerge from the pain a better person. Never give in. We are meant for more.
